Most people get into the real estate industry because they want the opportunity for a big life. That’s the number one reason. Whether it’s opportunity in the form of income or freedom of time, real estate can provide you with it.
Having a successful career in real estate is not as easy as you think it may be on HGTV. Some people think they can just copy what their agent does and make a lot of money. It’s not that simple. They don’t take into account the hours that go into the job leading up to that transaction, as well as all the stuff behind the scenes, not to mention the splits, taxes, and expenses that go into your gross vs. net income.
We’ve ran offices and coached a lot of young agents in the process. We’ve seen a lot of agents get their license so they can sell a friend or family member’s home, get the commission, and move on.
